Hypomyces rosellus Twyford Wood 4.2.2017

Hypomyces rosellus, a parasite on a number of brackets and, apparently (as here) resupinates. It is related to Coralspot (Nectria). This was seen in Lincolnshire but for example there are about 15 records for H. rosellus in Norfolk. Sometimes you can find the very distinctive colour without the 'pimples' (perithecia). There is a rather commoner orange species (H. aurantius) which occurs on rotting brackets.
